google gDrive the future of computing?

for those not familiar yet with cloud computing, google is rumored to be releasing the gDrive service which would host your operating system and all files on your hard drive and enable you to access "your computer" from any internet connection in the world. you would basically have your own space on google's massive and powerful servers for all your computing needs. no physical hardware would be needed, only an internet connection.

we have already quietly been moving towards remote computing by using services such as google docs, flickr, picassa, etc.

just watch your privacy, as google may not be as non-evil as you may think. and be careful microsoft, i highly doubt google will be installing your os on their virtual machines.
